Zeta Chapter
The History of the Zeta Chapter
Our chapter history began when the Victory Voices were initiated at the University of Arizona in 2001.
Our chapter was officially chartered May 27, 2006. After the chapter went inactive in 2009, the sisterhood returned to the university in Spring 2012 when it was adopted in the United Sorority and Fraternity Council at the University of Arizona. On July 13, 2013, the Zeta chapter was re-instated at the 2013 Grand Gatherings hosted in Tucson, AZ. In addition to hosting the 2013 Grand Gathering, the chapter has also worked with the Tucson Urban League by hosting events that aim to empower young women. The chapter has gained a lot of support from alumni sisters in the Tucson Area, including Carrie Wood (Zeta Chapter), JoLynn Begay (Zeta Chapter), Nazune Menka (Alpha Chapter), Danielle Hiraldo (Beta Chapter), and Eliza Yellowbird-Johns (Epsilon Chapter).
Since 2001, the chapter has conducted eleven honey processes (intake processes). Within that group of sisters, twelve different Native American tribes are represented.
